GENERAL FUNCTION

At LensCrafters, we are passionate about the health and wellbeing of our customers and patients. We’ve expanded his passion to Surgical Clinics where we can provide even more comprehensive care and services in the neighborhoods that we serve.

The Sterile Processor handles and sterilizes the instruments and equipment required for surgical procedures. They understand universal precautions, sterilization standards, and appropriate documentation. They have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe handling of instruments, appropriate sterilization, and proper instrument packaging. They possess the training and skills to assist with room set up and opening a sterile field.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Checks supplies and equipment prepared for surgical procedure
• Uses appropriate PPE when cleaning instrumentation
• Checks and tests equipment used in sterilization
• Cleans and wraps instruments according to standard
• Always handles instruments in a safe manner
• Cleans and maintains autoclave and other equipment
• Documents according to policy
• Assists in room turnover and preparing instruments for surgery
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant experience in a medical, surgical, or optical environment
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Strong basic math skills
• Must have a strong command of the English language for all written correspondence & oral communication
• Committed team player
• Dedication to detail and process
• Proven ability to problem solve

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant medical or surgical certifications/degrees
• Strong knowledge of basic optics
• State licensure (if applicable) &/or ABO Certification in non-licensed states
• Knowledge of retail operations, processes & policies

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
