Job Description

The Product Owner – Data Engineering & Business Intelligence is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and delivery of data products that power analytics and decision-making across Trove Brands. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cross-functional partners to define product goals, prioritize initiatives, and deliver scalable solutions. While you won’t be engineering products yourself, success in this role requires a solid understanding of data engineering and analytics methodologies to enable effective collaboration and planning.

Every role at Trove Brands is critical to our successful functioning as a whole. Your specific responsibilities as a part of Team Trove will include:

  • Define and communicate the vision, roadmap, and strategy for Trove’s data & BI products.
  • Own and manage product backlogs for data pipelines, warehouse enhancements, and reporting solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders (Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Leadership) to gather requirements and align priorities.
  • Translate business needs into clear acceptance criteria and user stories that balance technical feasibility with business impact.
  • Guide the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and well-governed data products (pipelines, integrations, warehouse enhancements) that enable timely, trusted, and actionable insights.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and foster collaboration between engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
  • Measure and communicate product impact, using KPIs to track adoption, reliability, and business value.
  • Continuously improve product development and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Champion data literacy and drive adoption of BI and data products across the organization.

Qualifications

We seek team members who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • 3+ years experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent role in data/analytics.
  • Working knowledge of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data modeling, data governance, and data warehouses) with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Experience working with BI/analytics platforms (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, and manage backlogs in Agile environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical, data-driven approach to problem solving and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL and comfort reviewing data to validate requirements.
  • Background in e-commerce, consumer products, or similar industries.
  • Experience defining metrics frameworks and building reporting dashboards.
