Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a leading construction company who is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Controller to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the company owner and management team, with a clear path to grow into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role. Title: Senior Controller
Location: Hybrid – Washington, DC
Salary Range: $200,000 + bonus
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Take an immediate seat at the leadership table, contributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
• Oversee financial operations for a company with $300M in revenue, managing projects across the East Coast.
• Conduct month-end close processes, including closing the books, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling GL accounts.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
• Manage and lead a small, highly capable team, including an Accounting Manager and part-time support staff, while also participating in the hiring of a Staff Accountant.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in construction/general contracting and cost management.
• Familiarity with SAGE 300 software and ProCor is highly preferred.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand and integrate various financial processes.
• Leadership skills to manage and develop a small team effectively.
