Barista I
Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $17.50

Schedule:

• Thursday to Sunday:
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

The Barista I is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by preparing and serving handcrafted beverages according to customer specifications. Daily duties include greeting customers warmly, accurately taking orders, and skillfully preparing a variety of beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit-blend drinks. The Barista ensures a pleasant customer experience by maintaining positive interactions and promptly addressing any customer inquiries or concerns.

Additional responsibilities include operating cash registers, handling cash and electronic payments, and maintaining accurate transaction records. The Barista also organizes supplies and merchandise attractively, maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar area, and regularly cleans equipment, workspaces, and restrooms. Compliance with food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and company policies is essential.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience is beneficial but not required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, and inventory control systems preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate and maintain professionalism with customers, coworkers, and management.
• Starbucks Baristas will be required to be certified.

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Frequently moves items weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Constantly positions self to prepare food items and operate kitchen equipment

Work Environment:

• Generally work indoors in a controlled, temperate environment; occasionally exposed to heat or cold during outdoor activities.
• Often exposed to moderate to loud noise levels due to machinery and customer activity.
• Work near others and often share the same workspace.
• Occasionally exposed to contaminants such as cleaning solvents.
• May occasionally work in extremely bright or dim lighting conditions.
